Long Distance
When placing calls, you become local to the site that processes your call, regardless of your home cellular area. If long distance is applicable, charges are rated from the cell site location that processes your call to the location you are calling.
On the KMTS Mobility Network:
- You will be charged long distance whenever you are required to dial 1 before an outgoing call.
- Long distance charges are determined by the originating location to the called number.
Outside Kenora:
- When calling long distance to either a cellular or landline phone, long distance charges will apply.
- In some areas of Canada and the U.S., you do not always have to dial 1 before the area code and number to place a long distance call. This means that in some cases, you may think you are placing a local call that is actually long distance. Long distance charges will apply.
- On incoming calls, long distance charges may apply. See the Roaming section.
