KMTS – How Kenora Communicates

Netscape 7.X Home Page and Mail Setup

This guide will help you setup and configure your netscape 7.X browser for mail and your homepage.

1. Open up your Netscape browser, then go to “Edit” then “Preferences”, on the right you will see a window that says “Location”, backspace what is in the window and type in www.kmts.ca , then hit “OK” at the bottom right.

2. Now go to the “Window” tab at the top, then select “Mail and Newsgroups”

3. Now at the top, select “Edit”, then “Mail and Newsgroup account settings”

4. Now select “Add Account” Leave the setting on “e-mail”

5. Once you hit next, you will see “Your Name” just type in your regular name or what you want people to know you as.  For the email address type in your KMTS.Net mail address for example if your user name is jdoe, you would typw in jdoe@kmts.ca.

6. Once you have selected next you will see “Select the type of incoming mail server” leave it on pop3.

7. The incoming mail server should be mail.kmts.ca, as well the outgoing mail server should be mail.kmts.ca, then hit “Next”.

8. Now you will see “User Name” , you will notice that your name is already in the window, that is fine, hit “Next”.

9. Now you will see “Account Name”, you will notice that your e-mail address is there already, you can leave it, then hit “Next”.

10. Now select “Finish”, your mail is now configured and ready.  To check your mail, select the mail envelope at the bottom left on the browser.
