Setting Windows 2000 to Automatic DNS

To Start, go to My Computer then Control Panel.

1.In Control Panel, you will see a folder called “Network and Dial up Connections”, double click this icon.

2. Now right click your KMTS connection icon, it may be called Voyageur, Technet, KMTS, or possibly My Connection, then hit properties.

You will now see a page similar to this one in (Picture 3), select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and hit Properties.

You will now see a page similar to this one, but you will or may have numbers for Primary and Alternate DNS, just above Preferred DNS select “Obtain DNS server address automatically”, you will notice that the page has gone grey similar to the one in the picture, this is what you want.  Now click ok till you no longer can click ok anymore, you will now see your Internet icon, you are done!!
