CDMA shutdown by roaming partners

KMTS wants to inform you of a change that impacts your wireless CDMA service (CDMA network is an older wireless network technology).

KMTS was working with a third-party carrier to provide CDMA coverage in its area. Since November 1, 2014, this carrier has begun shutting down its CDMA network. By December 31, 2014 (early January), their network shutdown was completed and CDMA coverage on that network is completely unavailable.  Please note that coverage on the 5 KMTS sites (Kenora, Keewatin, Sioux Narrows, Hawk Lake, and Dog Tooth Lake) will continue at this time.

We realize that this change is an inconvenience, but we would like to assure you that we are committed to providing you with the most advanced wireless technologies to serve your needs. Now is a great time to consider upgrading to a new mobile device that runs on our fastest networks. Wireless coverage is available in many parts of Northwestern Ontario on our high-speed HSPA+ or LTE networks. Upgrading your device is easy. Simply visit a NorthernTel authorized agent today.
